Job summary

The City of High Point seeks a Solid Waste Enforcement Officer to promote recycling, enforce the Solid Waste Ordinance, and educate residents and businesses. This role uses Routeware data to improve operational efficiency and reduce contamination, with work performed under the Solid Waste Collections Superintendent.

The position requires inspecting routes, coordinating with Code Enforcement, and supporting efforts to deter illegal dumping while supporting strong community recycling programs.

Responsibilities

• Enforce the City's Solid Waste Ordinance and interpret its provisions.
• Inspect routes and materials to ensure proper recycling and waste separation.
• Educate residents and businesses about contamination and disposal best practices.
• Monitor route data, audits, and equipment to improve efficiency and compliance.
• Coordinate with code enforcement and other divisions to address violations.
• Assist with data reporting, maps, and route analyses to enhance operations.
