Job summary

Office of the Indiana Attorney General invites a recent law-school graduate or judicial law clerk to a one-year fellowship serving in the Solicitor General team. Fellows will perform legal research, draft briefs, take depositions, and appear in court on state matters.

Fellows work mainly with the Solicitor General and his team handling the State's Supreme Court docket, constitutional challenges, and statewide cases.

Qualifications

• Recent law graduate or judicial law clerk with strong writing skills.
• Admitted or pursuing Indiana bar admission; excellent academic record.
• Judicial clerkship is a plus and demonstrates legal research ability.

Responsibilities

• Assist with trial and appellate litigation, researching issues, drafting briefs, and handling depositions.
• Research and draft amicus curiae briefs for state in federal and state courts.
• Present and assist with oral arguments when appropriate.
• Analyze strategic or policy issues relevant to the Office’s work.
• Undertake other assigned tasks as needed.
