Job summary

AlpHa Measurement Solutions, LLC is hiring a Soldering Associate to assemble and solder cables and boards, including SMT or BGA work, potting, final assembly, testing and packing per work instructions.

The role supports Electronics and Electro-Chemical units, with a Monday–Friday 3pm–11pm shift and a $1.00 differential. Requires a high school diploma or GED and soldering experience; IPC certification is a plus. Ability to lift 25 lbs is expected.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Previous soldering experience required or preferred.
  • IPC soldering certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Solder cable leads to through‑hole locations on PCBs.
  • Perform SMT or BGA soldering as needed.
  • Cut, strip, tin, solder and terminate cable assemblies.
  • Produce electronic assemblies from start to finish per drawings.
  • Fabricate or modify parts using shop equipment and tools.
  • Attach labels to wires, products and packages.
  • Test product performance to ensure specs are met.
  • Record defects and data as requested by supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Notify supervisor of any issues and follow instructions.

Job description

Position Summary

The Soldering Associate performs all tasks involved in the production of products manufactured under the scope of the Electronics or Electro-Chemical business unit. This includes cable assembly, soldering cable leads onto printed circuit board through‑hole locations, some surface‑mount technology (SMT) soldering, BGA soldering, potting, final assembly, testing, and packing in accordance with established methods, standards, and work instructions. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Working Hours

Monday thru Friday – 3pm to 11pm (second shift) with a $1.00 differential.

Essential Functions
  • Solder cable leads to through‑hole locations on printed circuit boards
  • Perform SMT or BGA soldering
  • Cut, strip, tin, solder and terminate cable assemblies
  • Produce electronic assemblies from start to finish according to schedule, specifications, engineering drawings, and work instructions
  • Fabricate or modify parts using provided shop equipment and tools
  • Attach appropriate labels to wires, products, and packages
  • Test product functional performance to ensure conformance to specifications prior to shipment
  • Record any defects or other data as requested by supervisors or managers
  • Understand serialized processes and trace data through product’s serial number where applicable
  • Pack finished goods into correct packages and boxes
  • Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned; duties and activities may change over time

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous soldering experience
  • Soldering certification (IPC) is a plus (but not required)
  • Previous experience operating electronic equipment
  • Ability to routinely lift 25 pounds
  • Ability to work in fast‑paced environments
  • Occasional overtime to meet business needs
  • Conversant in English for safe and effective performance of the job
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
