Using small tweezers and hand tools, you will perform delicate work on fine circuits and tiny components while collaborating closely with engineering and operations teams.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble medical stents, catheters, catheter shafts, and related sub-assemblies in a cleanroom environment under a microscope.
  • Perform precise hand soldering of tiny components, including surface-mount devices (SMD), onto fine circuits and small circuit boards.
  • Use small tweezers, hand tools, and bonding techniques to complete intricate assemblies on disposable medical devices.
  • Follow established J-standard and cleanroom procedures to ensure product quality, consistency, and compliance with medical device requirements.
  • Communicate frequently with engineering and operations teams to clarify assembly requirements, provide feedback, and support process improvements.
  • Participate in training with a small team to learn specific assembly processes, cleanroom protocols, and production workflows.
  • Maintain a high level of visual accuracy and attention to detail when working at close distances under a microscope.
  • Adhere to safety, quality, and documentation standards throughout all assembly and soldering activities.
  • Support production goals by working efficiently within scheduled shifts while maintaining the precision required for medical devices.
Essential Skills

  • Catheter assembly experience, with hands-on work on catheter shafts and related components.
  • Ability to work effectively under a microscope for extended periods and maintain consistent accuracy.
  • Experience with cleanroom procedures and the ability to gown and work in a controlled environment.
  • Familiarity with thru-hole and surface-mount (SMD) soldering techniques.
  • Understanding of J-standard guidelines for soldering quality and workmanship.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English instructions, work orders, and technical documentation.
  • Strong manual dexterity and fine motor skills for handling tiny components with tweezers and hand tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of bonding experience is highly preferred.
  • At least 1 year of catheter experience is preferred beyond basic exposure.
  • At least 1 year of experience working under a microscope is preferred.
  • IPC soldering certification is highly desirable, especially with cleanroom soldering experience.
  • Interest in leadership development and the potential to build supervisory skills over time.
  • Ability to identify colors and maintain clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less.
  • Comfort working with very light forces on delicate components in a precision manufacturing setting.
