Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc in Simsbury, CT is seeking a Production Specialist to hand-solder surface mount components and SAW devices onto PCBs, following MIL-STD 883 and J-STD specifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing/assembly experience with soldering.
• Experience using a microscope.
• Proficient with Windows software and MS Office.
• Strong communication in English, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Solder electronic components and install SAW components onto PCBs using drawings and travelers.
• Complete module assembly by installing PCBs into module cases per documentation.
• Perform quality inspections of components and assemblies per Microchip procedures.
• Document inspection results in the Work Order Event Database and report discrepancies.
• Sign off travelers and move completed products to Inventory or Test departments.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives and related process improvements.
