Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Solar Technician II for the Platteview, NE site to perform O&M on utility-scale solar PV sites and substations. The role covers maintenance, switching, and operational tasks, with emphasis on safety and environmental standards.

The candidate should commute daily to the Platteview project and lead field activities when needed. Requirements include a 2-year technical degree or journeyman qualifications, 3+ years PV O&M experience, and 5+ years in power plants with PV

Qualifications

Possess a 2-year technical degree or equivalent journeyman qualifications.
Three (3) or more years’ experience as a PV O&M solar technician.
Five (5) or more years’ experience in a power plant and one (1) or more years’ experience in PV Solar O&M or Construction.

Responsibilities

Responsible for assigned O&M activities for solar PV sites and substations at utility-scale Solar Energy Plants.
Performs corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance and operations on electrical equipment.
Prepares and implements switching and clearance orders; ensures safety and environmental compliance.
