Job summary

Invenergy LLC operates the Hardin Solar Energy Center south of Alger, OH, seeking a Solar Technician to assist in operating and maintaining the facility. The role involves routine maintenance of solar assets, inverters, trackers, and substations, with a focus on safe, efficient operations and adherence to the vegetation management plan.

Candidate will work 7:00am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday (40 hours) with possible overtime and occasional night work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• One year technical experience (electrical) and/or technical education.
• Willing to travel up to 30% of the time.
• Willing to work nights during scheduled/unscheduled maintenance.
• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather.
• Ability to climb / work safely from a portable step ladder.
• Ability to follow procedures with minimal oversight.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Able to move/manipulate up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in future.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on site solar, substation, and associated equipment.
• Perform vegetation management per the vegetation management plan.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic problems including inverter/tracker faults and network issues.
• Understand electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic functions of all site components.
• Conduct daily site maintenance wearing required safety equipment to inspect, maintain, and repair equipment.
