Job summary

Service Robot Co. is seeking field personnel to install and maintain solar equipment at various customer sites in Davis, CA. This contract role involves outdoor work, travel to sites, and hands-on electrical tasks, with paid per work order compensation.

You will be inspecting systems, mounting panels, wiring, and performing routine maintenance while adhering to safety protocols and site plans. Training is provided through our Academy and on-site sessions.

Qualifications

• Experience in roofing, electrical work, construction, HVAC, or a similar trade.
• Basic electrical knowledge or willingness to learn via training.
• Commitment to safety and recognizing equipment faults.
• Comfort with ladders, harness use, and working at height.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Install solar panels, mounting systems, and wiring according to site plans.
• Maintain and repair inverters, combiner boxes, trackers, and connectors.
• Inspect systems, take electrical readings, and use thermal scans to find faults.
• Clean panels and complete scheduled maintenance.
• Follow fall protection, electrical isolation, and test-before-touch procedures.
• Record each visit with photos, readings, and repair notes.
• Explain findings and follow-up work to the site owner.
• Keep tools, meters, and protective equipment ready for use.

The role

Training

You will complete an online course through our Service Robot Co. Academy, followed by in-person training and the industry certifications needed for this role. The Academy is certificate training that we subsidize. Your first job is paid, with a specialist supporting you remotely.
