This is a full-time field position with 5 days/week surveying and servicing rooftop/ground mounted solar (PV) systems.

The Opportunity

Are you looking for a career in the renewable energy sector? The Solar (PV) industry is a fast-growing field with opportunities for education and advancement.

We are seeking a Solar Technician with a minimum of two years' solar experience to join our team. This position is responsible for the professional installation of solar energy systems for residential and commercial clients. This role also involves site surveys, troubleshooting, and servicing of existing systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in electrical work, solar panel installation, system maintenance, and a good understanding of renewable energy technologies and safety standards.

  • You will work as part of an experienced team to deliver sustainable, environmentally friendly solar energy solutions across Maryland.
  • Successful candidates will be trained on the latest solar (PV) technologies. We are willing to train the right candidate.
  • You should be detail-oriented to handle complex solutions and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Pay is hourly, with overtime opportunities. Income potential increases with success in the field. We are a growing business with expanding roles each year.

Typical Duties

As a Solar Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Electrical Work: Performing electrical connections, wiring, and installation of solar panels, inverters, and electrical equipment, ensuring safety and industry standards compliance.
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnosing and resolving system issues, performing routine maintenance, and providing solutions to ensure proper operation.
  • Safety Compliance: Following all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment and ensure safe installation of solar equipment.
  • Team Collaboration: Working closely with project managers, electricians, and other team members for timely and quality project completion.

Non-Technical Skills/Traits Required

  • English speaking
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past 2 years
  • Passing a criminal background check (no felonies or violent misdemeanors)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in outdoor environments and challenging weather conditions
  • Comfort with heights and roof work
  • Good communication skills and teamwork
