Job summary

BlueWave seeks a Project Development Co-op in the Boston area to support solar and battery energy storage project development and permitting. You will create community meeting presentations, review interconnection and incentive applications, and assist landowner communications while researching technical topics.

This hybrid role requires in-office presence at least three days per week and is a January 2027 through June 2027 co-op.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Energy Systems, Urban Planning, Business, or a related field.
• Preference for candidates with at least one co-op or related work experience.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency in Excel.
• Exposure to Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is a plus.
• General understanding of electrical components used in solar/storage projects.

Responsibilities

• Support development of solar and energy storage project opportunities in MA.
• Represent BlueWave within the Project Development team with engineers, contractors, landowners, permitting authorities, and customers.
• Use document control, GIS tools and Salesforce to track project progress.
• Learn project documentation, regulatory milestones, and monitor progress against requirements.
• Prepare internal and external documents and presentations.
• Provide quantitative analytical support for key development decisions.
• Assist in land-use, permitting and site control negotiations; attend meetings with local boards.
• Assist in early project diligence such as site design and financial modeling.
• Support Grid Integration team with utility interconnection processes.
