Job summary

Empower Solar, a full-service residential solar installer, seeks a full-time Site Surveyor to document home-site data for photovoltaic design. You will work with Design and Engineering teams, using a drone and iPad to capture aerial imagery, photos of the electrical panel, meters, obstructions, and measurements to support permits and installation.

The role requires 1–2 years in construction, willingness to travel within California, and the ability to work on rooftops in varied environments.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Solar installation experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to read, write, understand solar plans and designs as well as excellent verbal communication.
• Ability to work in challenging environments (hot sun, cold, wind, etc.).
• Capable of standing for long periods and working at heights (roofs).
• Must be willing to travel within California.
• Ability to operate a computer, drone and smartphone for communication and uploading documents/photos.
• Must be open to working different schedules Mon-Sun.
• Clean driving record and CA driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assess job site conditions on arrival (roofs, electrical panels).
• Utilize drones to capture aerial imagery.
• Measure roof planes, vents, dormers, chimneys as needed.
• Measure attic structure and conditions.
• Capture shade readings for designers and financing platforms.
• Document roofs, attic space and electrical panels with photos.
• Upload photos and site assessments into Site Capture.
• Inspect roofs for structural integrity.
• Use PPE properly and safely.
• Travel as required to project locations within CA.
