Job summary

ACT Power Services seeks a Solar Master Technician to perform safe, productive repairs and maintenance on Commercial and Utility Scale Solar PV plants. You will perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to maximize production, while contributing to a safe, reliable, clean energy future.

This role covers preventative and corrective maintenance on solar modules, strings, trackers, and inverters.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with electrical systems and components.
• Proficiency with power tools for repair tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.
• Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Working knowledge and experience operating under OSHA 1910, NFPA 70E, and 70B.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certificate.
• Must have the ability to travel, work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in everything that you do.
• Conducting routine preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting and repair of solar photovoltaic facilities.
• Willingness to learn the NEC code, electrical theory, and industry best practices.
• DC and AC testing included but not limited to polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, communication, insulation resistance testing, I-V curve tracing.
• Interpret schematics to understand system layouts and connections.
• Maintain a schedule for routine maintenance, service, trouble shooting and repair of equipment at solar photovoltaic facilities including but not limited to: Single Axis trackers, Central or String Inverters, Transformers, AC and DC disconnects, Substation equipment.
• Maintaining company property such as vehicle, tools, meters and plant stock.
• Maintaining service reports, inspection documentation, safety paperwork, and spare parts inventory.
• Provide maintenance and troubleshooting training to technicians and others as needed.
• Identify safety hazards and take appropriate action to remove or eliminate hazards.
