Job summary

Geronimo Power, LLC is seeking a Solar Tech I to join our Mascoutah, IL team. The technician will perform on-site operations, maintenance, and repairs at utility-scale solar plants, working with the Plant Manager and cross-functional teams.

The role requires 3+ years of solar or power industry experience, proficiency with electrical schematics, and the ability to pass a fit-for-duty evaluation. Travel to sites and occasional after-hours work are possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of related experience or power industry training.
• Demonstrated experience in solar facility operations and maintenance including a broad range of renewable or other power generation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Computer skills using word processing, spreadsheets, email, and facility control systems; diagnostic tools.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to work in adverse weather.
• Ability to pass a fit-for-duty physical and work around low/medium voltage.
• Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics and prints.

Responsibilities

• Ensure strict management and compliance of all EHS programs.
• Operate and maintain solar plant equipment including HV equipment, inverters, and trackers.
• Provide quality assessments of third-party contractor work.
• Read schematics to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance per maintenance manuals.
• Set up sites for proper tooling, inventory, and spare parts.
• Assist with warranties and capital improvement programs.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule and possible after-hours work.
• Occasional travel to fleet sites.
