Job summary

GreenSpark Solar in Rochester, NY is seeking an experienced Solar Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Technician. This on-site, hands-on role covers monitoring, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing residential and commercial solar systems to ensure safe, efficient operation.

You will diagnose issues, work with field crews and internal teams, follow safety standards, and perform PV installation tasks when needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of PV maintenance experience.
• Experience with PV DC/AC systems and network comms.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Google Workspace.
• Knowledge of NEC and electrical drawings/diagrams.
• Valid driver’s license; OSHA 10/ NFPA 70E preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pre-maintenance preparation: research case notes and gather parts.
• On-site maintenance and repair of PV systems and accessories.
• Update service records and warranty data; document site visits.
• Clearly communicate issues and resolutions to customers and team.
• Maintain safety policies and tool/vehicle inventory.
• Attend training sessions and prepare reports on operability.
• PV installation tasks when no maintenance is required.
