What To Expect

The Service Installer is an essential part of Tesla’s Field Energy Operations team. Employees in this role are pivotal in advancing Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. As a Service Installer, you'll work with the latest solar technology, build relationships with team members, and complete product installations safely and on schedule. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning about basic energy system construction, terminology, and concepts. This is an hourly role requiring outdoor work in extreme environments, at heights, and involves repetitive duties such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.

What You'll Do
  1. Support the Crew Lead and Electrician in servicing and maintaining Tesla’s solar products.
  2. Attend weekly team meetings and mandatory training sessions on new products, best practices, and standard workmanship guidelines.
  3. Follow building standards and codes during installation and servicing of panels and support structures.
  4. Assist with routine maintenance of energy systems.
  5. Manage time and tasks effectively with a sense of urgency.
  6. Provide an exceptional customer experience to all clients.
What You'll Bring
  1. Experience in roof work, general construction, or carpentry is preferred.
  2. Ability to safely handle power tools, hand tools, and materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and other electrical equipment, as well as lumber and roofing materials.
  3. Excellent problem-solving skills.
  4. Reliable attendance is essential for team success.
  5. Willingness to travel up to 2 weeks at a time, several times a year, across various U.S. locations.
  6. Ability to work at heights, in extreme environments, perform repetitive tasks, and lift at least 50 pounds frequently.
  7. Valid driver's license is required.
