Job summary

Black & Veatch Family of Companies is seeking a Solar Leadman 1 to assist in planning, layout, installation, testing, and repair of PV systems across electrical, mechanical, and civil components. You will help coordinate craft workers, ensure safety, and drive efficient installation on site.

Preferred candidates have NCCER Solar PV Installer and related certifications, at least 2 years in solar installation, and the ability to read plans and work with multiple trades.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience as a Solar Installer or equivalent in construction.
• Working knowledge of Solar Photovoltaic construction and PV system installation/maintenance.
• Must have all necessary tools listed in the Solar Installer Tool List.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to meet pre-employment onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in plan, layout, installation, testing and repair of PV construction including electrical, mechanical, and civil components.
• Lay out, assemble and install solar modules, panels, or support structures per drawings and specs.
• Apply weather sealing and install labels on system components.
• Determine materials, equipment, and sequences to maximize installation efficiency.
• Install active solar systems, including collectors, pumps or fans, and complete daily pre-job safety planning.
• Coordinate work with other crafts and mentor helpers/laborers on site.
• Read and interpret plans; ensure work meets plans, specs and safety standards.
