Nextpower is seeking a Patent Agent in California to partner with engineers and lead patent preparation and prosecution. You will oversee outside counsel, perform prior-art searches, and help shape the company’s IP portfolio for solar-related technologies.

The role requires 3+ years of patent experience, strong technical writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple matters to align with business goals.

Qualifications

• Registered to practice before the USPTO as a Patent Agent.
• 3+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Ability to understand mechanical systems and communicate with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineers to identify patentable inventions.
• Oversee and review outside counsel drafts of USPTO filings.
• Conduct prior-art searches and patentability analyses.
