GRID Alternatives is seeking a Workforce Solar Trainer to teach the IBT curriculum and related workforce programming at our Oakland, CA location. This on-site role requires strong residential solar installation knowledge, classroom command, and ability to engage learners in classroom, lab, and field settings.

The position includes travel up to 40% and offers comprehensive benefits; compensation ranges from $52,286 to $70,000 annually. Prior teaching experience and bilingual ability are a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in solar installation.
• Baseline solar installation capstone exam capable.
• Ability to pass GRID Alternatives’ train the trainer program or equivalent.
• Ability to teach and present to groups for extended periods.
• Skills to teach basic residential installation techniques in class, lab and on-site.

Responsabilités

• Implement curriculum, lesson plans and training calendars.
• Deliver curriculum and ensure participants achieve learning outcomes.
• Teach and supervise solar installation skills including safety, layout, and tools.
• Ensure safety procedures for equipment use and cleanup of training areas.
• Provide on-the-job training supervision for learners on customer installations.
• Collaborate with Workforce Program Manager on schedules and logistics.
• Review learner progress and document skill attainment.
• Assist in recruitment and job placement activities.
• Maintain and set up lab equipment for training.
