Job summary

AOE International seeks an experienced Solar Field Trainer to deliver practical solar installation training to adult learners at the Vienna Correctional Center in Vienna, Illinois. The role involves leading demonstrations, supervising simulated installations and guiding participants toward entry-level employment in solar and clean-energy industries.

The trainer will emphasize safety, hands-on skills, and workplace readiness, with opportunities to develop curriculum and assess performance.

Qualifications

At least three years of professional experience in solar installation or related trades.
Hands-on knowledge of photovoltaic installation practices and jobsite procedures.
Experience training apprentices or teams is preferred but not required.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the Vienna Correctional Center.
Ability to pass background checks and facility clearances.
Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Deliver hands-on training in residential and commercial solar installation fundamentals.
Lead demonstrations and supervise simulated installations.
Evaluate student performance and provide feedback and coaching.
Coordinate with facility personnel regarding schedules and safety protocols.
Maintain order, safety and tool-control during training sessions.
