Job summary

Citadel Roofing and Solar is seeking a high-energy Solar Field and Service Technician to join our Northern California team. This full-time role based in Sacramento requires hands-on installation, inspection, and maintenance of PV and battery systems, with responsibility for testing and compliance across sites.

You will work autonomously on projects, perform inspections, and handle troubleshooting to ensure safety and performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years solar & battery system installation experience.
• Technical understanding of leading solar equipment brands.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience in electrical troubleshooting (power outages, faults, etc.).
• C-10 electrical contractor license or journeyman-level experience preferred.
• Good communication with homeowners and customers.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Willing and able to climb ladders and work on rooftops.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical components for PV and storage systems.
• Sit AHJ inspections and commission solar and battery systems.
• Perform quality inspections for new installations.
• Inspect systems to identify hazards, defects, or adjustments needed.
• Ensure projects comply with energy and construction codes.
• Test AC and DC circuits using appropriate testing devices.
• Install and maintain monitoring systems.
