Job summary

TerraForm Power in Lexington, NC seeks a Solar Technician 2 with 2+ years of experience in utility-scale solar plants. You will maintain and operate facilities, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and support QA/QC inspections.

You will collaborate with the Operations Manager and NC team to uphold performance goals. Responsibilities include field maintenance, switching, safety compliance, on-call repairs, and site travel to support other NC locations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in solar PV plant maintenance and switchgear operation.
• Knowledge of DAS and communication networks.
• Hands-on solar operations, troubleshooting, and industrial maintenance.
• Strong electrical fundamentals and safety procedures.
• Willingness to work nights and be on-call.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Commitment to ongoing technical training.

Responsibilities

• Perform field maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on solar facility equipment.
• Conduct preventive and routine maintenance on solar equipment and switchgear.
• Safely operate under all conditions; follow electrical safety procedures including LOTO.
• Monitor sites, manage work orders, and document tasks.
• Perform status checks, clear error codes, and make repairs.
• Respond to on-call emergency repairs as needed.
• Prepare switching and clearance orders.
• Travel to other NC sites to assist teammates.
