Solar Field Service Technician — Inverter Commissioning & Support

Job summary

TMEIC seeks an experienced field service professional to provide technical advisory services for commissioning and warranty support of solar PV inverters and related electrical systems. You will ensure project schedules and performance criteria are met while coordinating with clients and vendors.

Responsibilities include on-site commissioning, witnessing factory tests, updating as-installed drawings, and training clients and staff on system operation and maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year experience commissioning and servicing power distribution, power electronic and rotating machine products.
• Demonstrated presentation skills.
• Ability to work in outdoor environments in high and low temperatures.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work standing for long periods of time on hard surfaces.
• Availability to travel, domestically and internationally, approximately 75%.
• Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other contacts.
• Proficiency in MS Office, software programming language, and simulation tool.

Responsibilities

• Commission solar PV inverters per project requirements.
• Gather information from authorized sources to assess project requirements.
• Comply with Company commissioning procedures and checklists.
• Troubleshoot, correct and document problems identified during commissioning or warranty support.
• Update drawings and project documentation to "as installed" status.
• Lead respective components of client Final Acceptance Test when assigned.
• Attend factory witness tests to ensure equipment meets specifications.
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve testing issues.
• Train clients on system maintenance procedures and operation.
• Train field service personnel on Company processes and solutions.
• Identify site-specific opportunities and recommend solutions to management.
• Provide regular commissioning status and testing reports to appropriate parties.
• Maintain current safety qualifications and adhere to safety requirements.
• Manage site schedule and coordinate personnel to follow procedures.
• Ensure proper safety equipment is available.
