Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Field Service Technician in Minneapolis, MN to perform safe, efficient maintenance and repairs on solar PV systems. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and hands-on troubleshooting across commercial and utility-scale sites.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable reading schematics, using power tools, and interpreting electrical layouts while adhering to OSHA and NFPA guidelines. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

Familiarity with electrical systems and components.
Proficiency in using power tools for repair tasks.
Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately.
Proficiency with MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

Uphold a high level of safety standards in everything that you do.
Conduct routine preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting and repair of solar photovoltaic facilities.
Willingness to learn the NEC code, electrical theory, and industry best practices.
Interpret schematics to understand system layouts and connections.
Maintain a schedule for routine maintenance, service, trouble shooting and repair of equipment at solar photovoltaic facilities including but not limited to trackers, inverters, transformers, disconnects and substation equipment.
Maintaining company property such as vehicle, tools, meters and plant stock.
Maintaining service reports, inspection documentation, safety paperwork, and spare parts inventory.
Provide maintenance and troubleshooting training to technicians and others as needed.
Identify safety hazards and take appropriate action to remove or eliminate hazards.
