Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Field Service Technician, Level 1, to perform on-site maintenance at solar plants in Texas. The role emphasizes safety, with training provided and supervision for tasks, including testing, troubleshooting and repairs of solar equipment.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, basic electrical knowledge, and a willingness to travel up to 10%. Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; vocational/technical training a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a mechanical/electrical environment.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to follow Lock Out/Tag Out procedures on energized parts/systems.
• Basic understanding of a solar installation/plant.
• Basic knowledge of testing equipment.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to work at remote locations in extreme weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Safety is the top priority and all employees follow safe practices.
• Operate and care for company property, equipment and tooling.
• Service solar equipment in multiple solar plants under supervision.
• Perform basic solar equipment testing, troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
• Replace or repair solar parts and/or equipment under supervision.
• Respond on call to assist in emergency equipment repairs.
• Prepare accurate documentation and required reports of work performed.
• Coordinate with EPC management on improvements and new technologies.
