Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Solar Maintenance Technician in Harrisburg, IL. The entry-level role focuses on safe, productive repairs and preventative maintenance for Commercial and Utility Scale Solar PV plants, including modules, strings, trackers, and inverters.

Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to maximize production. Ongoing learning of NEC, electrical theory, and industry best practices is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with electrical systems and components.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.
• Willingness to travel and work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Uphold safety standards in all tasks.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of solar PV facilities.
• Learn NEC code, electrical theory, and industry best practices.
• Conduct DC and AC testing including insulation resistance and I-V tracing.
• Interpret schematics to understand system layouts and connections.
• Maintain maintenance schedules for equipment and ensure documentation is complete.
• Provide training on maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
• Identify safety hazards and mitigate them.
