ACT Power Services in Corpus Christi, TX is hiring a Field Service Technician. This entry‑level role focuses on safe, productive repairs and maintenance of Commercial and Utility Scale Solar PV plants. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to maximize production.

The position covers maintenance of solar modules, strings, trackers, and inverters, with a learning path across electrical theory and NEC rules. Local travel and on‑call duties are required.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with electrical systems and components.
• Proficiency in using power tools for repair tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.
• Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1910, NFPA 70E and 70B.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certificate.

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in everything that you do.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting and repair of solar photovoltaic facilities.
• Learn NEC code, electrical theory, and industry best practices.
• Perform DC and AC testing and I‑V tracing.
• Interpret schematics to understand system layouts and connections.
• Maintain routine maintenance schedules for trackers, inverters, transformers and disconnects.
• Maintain company tools, meters and stock.
• Provide maintenance and troubleshooting training as needed.
• Identify safety hazards and take action to remove hazards.
