Job summary

ABB is hiring a Solar Field Service Technician to perform on-site service work, identify opportunities to improve customer operations, and ensure quality service delivery. You will prepare material lists and coordinate parts and equipment, while training field service teams and customers as needed.

The role requires experience with PV systems, inverters, racking systems, and NEC code knowledge. Up to 80% travel is expected across multiple sites in the US, with on-site responsibilities and strong

Qualifications

• Solar experience preferred.
• 3+ years Solar Technician experience preferred.
• Experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting PV systems preferred.
• Experience installing all types of grid-tier inverters and be able to work with various ground and roof mount racking systems preferred.
• Experience in PV Component performance and HALT testing preferred.
• Familiarity with electrical plans and field layouts PV System site inspection experience
• Electrical knowledge/training preferred.
• Must have understanding of NEC codes that relate to PV installations.

Responsibilities

• Perform field service tasks and identify opportunities to improve customer operations.
• Communicate service work timeline and expectations to ensure customer retention.
• Prepare material lists and ensure availability of materials, parts and equipment.
• Act as trainer for field service associates and customers as needed.
