Job summary

Atlas NextWave is seeking qualified Field Inspectors/Engineers for on-demand, on-site construction quality monitoring of ground-mounted solar PV projects. This part-time contract role involves observing construction activities, reviewing delivered equipment for EPC, UL, and NEMA compliance, and auditing QA/QC documentation.

You will report on schedule and quality issues and discuss progress with site personnel and management.

Qualifications

• On-site field inspection experience preferred.
• Understanding of QA/QC processes in construction.
• Knowledge of solar PV systems and associated standards.

Responsibilities

Job description

Our client is seeking qualified Field Inspectors/Engineers to provide construction quality monitoring services for an ongoing portfolio of ground-mounted, behind the meter solar PV projects. These would be on demand/ad hoc site visits. This is a part-time contract open to US residents.

The appointed personnel will monitor construction activities and project completion through on-demand site observations. The objective of these site visits is to provide independent observations of key construction activities by engineers with the expertise and experience necessary to assess whether the work is being performed in accordance with the project design, contractual requirements, and prudent industry practices.

Inspectors will perform the following while on site:

• Observe the status and manner of construction;
• Review main equipment and components delivered to site to ensure that they are compliant with the EPC contract requirements, UL listings, NEMA ratings, and voltage ratings;
• Audit (spot-check) the on-site quality assurance and control (QA/QC) documentation to assess compliance with the Project specifications. DNV has assumed that all QA/QC documentation will be delivered in electronic format for off-site review;
• Identify and report on potential impact of schedule and quality issues, as seen during the site visit; and
• Discuss construction progress, safety practices, issues, and resolution with site personnel, including a debrief with site management on any notable observations from the visit.
