Job summary

Sunrun Inc. is hiring a Certified Electrician 1 in New Carrollton, MD to install solar systems, mentor peers, and support storage tech. You’ll install, troubleshoot, and upgrade residential electrical systems, ensuring NEC compliance and safe practices.

The role requires 1 year solar installation experience, a valid Journeyman license, and up to 5% travel. Compensation includes a starting wage of $33.40–$44.54 per hour and a $1,500 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• 1 year solar electrical installation and repair experience required.
• Experience wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC.
• Experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels.
• Must hold a valid Journeyman License / Electrician Certification.
• Clean driving record with valid driver's license and be 21+.
• Demonstrated mentoring of Electricians and safety mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation of electrical systems interconnecting solar array to customer grid.
• Ensure workmanship meets NEC and local codes.
• Complete solar battery installations as assigned.
• Troubleshoot system issues and resolve electrical problems.
• Plan and perform Main Panel Upgrades (MPU).
• Coordinate with branch team and homeowners for necessary upgrades/repairs.
• Mentor others to enhance electrical skills.
• Train on Sunrun best practices and prepare team for advancement.
• Work with licensed holders, AHJ inspectors, and crew as SME.
• Address recurring quality issues and inspections to raise pass rate.
• Travel up to 5% and perform additional duties as needed.
