Job summary

Pfister Energy, Inc. seeks an Electrician (Journeyman – Foreman) to support installation, wiring, and commissioning of commercial solar PV systems across Maryland projects with regular regional travel.

The role offers advancement into Lead Electrician and Foreman, strong safety training, and opportunities to mentor apprentices while coordinating with project teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial electrical experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test electrical systems for commercial solar PV projects.
• DC and AC wiring, including combiner boxes, inverters, disconnects, and service equipment.
• Install and support conduit and cable tray systems (EMT, rigid, PVC, wire basket, ladder tray, and associated supports).
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and specifications.
• Ensure all work complies with NEC, local codes, and project requirements.
• Follow all jobsite safety procedures, including LOTO and arc-flash protocols.
• Coordinate with mechanical crews, Crew Leads, and project management.
• Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites.
• Support system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.
• Lead daily electrical work activities and crew workflow.
• Assign tasks and manage manpower to meet schedule and production goals.
• Perform quality control inspections and resolve punch-list items.
• Coordinate electrical scopes with project managers, inspectors, and utilities.
• Lead toolbox talks and enforce safety standards.
• Mentor and train apprentice and junior electricians.
• Support material planning, equipment coordination, and site logistics.

Role Overview:

Pfister Energy is seeking Electricians with a minimum of 2 years of commercial electrical experience to support the installation, wiring, and commissioning of commercial solar PV and related electrical systems.

This internal opportunity is designed for electricians who want to expand their skill set in commercial solar, renewable energy, and large-scale electrical construction, with clear pathways into Lead Electrician and Foreman roles.

Core Responsibilities (All Levels):

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years of commercial electrical experience (required)
• Experience with conduit and cable tray installation in commercial environments
• Ability to read and execute work from electrical drawings
• Strong understanding of electrical safety practices
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor
• Comfortable working outdoors and at heights
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally

Preferred Experience & Certifications:

• Solar PV electrical experience (DC and AC systems)
• Journeyman Electrician license (state-dependent)
• OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30
• Experience on prevailing wage or public works projects
• Experience leading crews or acting as Lead Electrician
• CPR / First Aid certification

Training & Career Development:

• Solar-specific electrical training and continuing education
