Job summary

Solargaines is seeking a licensed journeyman electrician to perform electrical work on solar projects across the Maryland/Delaware area. You will install wiring, read blueprints, and ensure NEC compliance while maintaining safety protocols.

Qualifications include Journeyman license, OSHA 10, and experience with DC systems and solar PV. The role involves on-site work, lifting up to 50 lbs, and mentoring apprentices.

Qualifications

• Must hold a journeyman electrician license and OSHA 10 certification.
• Ability to read construction drawings/diagrams and develop a plan.
• Experience with DC electrical systems and solar PV installations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install code-compliant electrical work on solar projects.
• Install wiring, conduit, enclosures, switchgear, and sub-panels.
• Read technical diagrams and blueprints; diagnose and repair problems.
• Perform general electrical maintenance and ensure NEC compliance.
• Coach apprentices and junior electricians; maintain PPE and tools.

Job description

Solar Gaines is growing! We currently need licensed journeyman electricians to complete the electrical work on multiple prevailing wage projects throughout the Delaware/Maryland area.

You will be responsible for installing and repairing complex electrical controls, and wiring,working from a technical blueprint. To perform in this role, youneedexperience in the field working on simple and complex electrical systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Installation of code-compliant electrical work on solar projects
• Install wiring, conduit, enclosures, switchgear,main service replacements, sub-panels, and transformers.
• Readtechnical diagrams and blueprints.
• Performgeneral electrical maintenance.
• Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
• Troubleshootelectrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
• Repairand replaceequipment, electrical wiring, and fixtures.
• Following the National Electrical Code state and local building regulations.
• Experience working with commercial PV systems, 600V and 1000V DC systems, single and three-phase systems, and communications.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctioning solar systems and electrical components.
• Establish and maintain effective communication channels with the superintendent and project manager.
• Ensure NEC electrical code compliance as related to solar PV installations and inspections.
• Complete tasks safely, correctly, and on schedule.
• Ensure electrical PPE, tools, and equipment assigned are maintained in good working condition or replaced as required
• Willingness to assist with non-electrical tasks
• Coach/Teach apprentices and more junior electricians.

Essential Skills:

• Working knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes as they relate to solar PV installations and inspection compliance.
• Experience reading blueprints, plans, and manufacturer specs.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be comfortable working from elevated environments.
• Experience in the renewable energy field a plus.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Journeyman electrician
• OSHA 10 certification
• Must be able to read construction drawings/diagrams and develop a working plan for implementation of design.
• Demonstrated knowledge of DC electrical.
• Basic math skills and reading comprehension.
• Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions to understand simple processes
• Valid driver’s license.
• Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Solar Experience is highly preferred.

Pay: $30 - $60 per hour
