Job summary

Herzog Energy, Inc. is seeking a Civil Estimator in the United States to join our team. You will prepare accurate cost estimates, scopes, and proposals for utility-scale solar and BESS projects, supporting competitive bids and negotiated work.

Work with estimators, PMs, and construction personnel; perform takeoffs and develop pricing models from data, quotes, and supplier input. Strong communication and travel around 30% are required.

Qualifications

• BS/degree preferred in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years estimating or equivalent construction experience preferred.
• Experience estimating civil scopes for utility-scale solar or site development preferred.
• Proficient in Word and Excel; familiarity with estimation software a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and contract documents.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; travel about 30%.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with estimators, PMs, and field personnel in a team environment.
• Participate in site walks, pre-bid meetings, and data collection.
• Develop accurate estimates for solar civil construction activities.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for grading, excavation, drainage, roads, and utilities.
• Create cost breakdowns and pricing models from data and quotes.
• Support value engineering and constructability reviews during preconstruction.
• Assist with bid preparation and project handoffs.
• Ensure regular attendance and alignment with Herzog culture.
