Job summary

The Soil and Water Conservation Program (SWCP) within the State of Missouri is hiring for a district liaison based at the Northeast Regional Office in Macon. The position involves reviewing contracts, guiding district staff, and ensuring policy compliance with state statutes.

Travel to districts is required for meetings, training and field support. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field; GIS experience is preferred and strong communication skills are essential

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Natural Resource Management or related field.
GIS experience preferred.
Excellent communication and writing skills; ability to present to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

Review cost-share contracts to ensure program policies are met; use MoSWIMS system.
Attend soil and water conservation district board meetings to advise district supervisors.
Supervise practical application of state statutes, rules, and policies affecting districts.
Perform compliance reviews of cost-share practices for assigned districts.
Provide training to district employees on operations, tracking and cost share administration.
Develop understanding of Missouri soil and water conservation rules and policies.
Represent the program at meetings, trainings, and educational events.
