Job summary

NOVO Health Services in Atlanta is seeking a Soiled Linen Separator for our hospital linen facility. You will open bags, push carts, and operate the belt process to move soil-linen through sorting and weighing stages.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; formal training preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or the service industry.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, and lift to 50 lbs.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Open bags at the breakout table and send linen up the belt.
• Move the soil cart and replace with a new cart, then return the empty cart.
• Break open bags at the bag breaker station.
• Sort linens by category: bath blankets, sheets, undergarments, towels, scrubs.
• Weigh and record soil slings, and ensure proper tagging and handling.
• Adhere to safety procedures, quality standards, and assist with other duties as assigned.

If you are ready to commit to measurable performance and continuous improvement, we want to hear from you!The successful candidate:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Open up bags at the breakout table and send linen up the belt.The primary cart mover (the attendant closest to the soil cart) brings the empty soil cart away from the belt, puts a new cart in the area, and takes the empty cart and pushes it to the cart area.The bag breaker attendant breaks open the bags.The attendants on the belt perform the following tasks:One attendant sorts large pieces consisting of bath blankets, flat sheets, draw sheets, and thermals.The second attendant sorts the second largest pieces – underpants, patient gowns, and fitted sheets.The third attendant will handle all the rest of the pieces, such as bath towels, washcloths, hand towels, and scrubs.The last stage of the soil room process is hoist and weigh or staging.
