Job summary

NOVO Health Services is seeking a Soiled Linen Separator for our Atlanta Location Healthcare Laundry facility. You will support efficient linen processing, act with decisiveness, and communicate clearly to ensure quality and safety.

Qualifications

• High School education or GED; additional training preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or service industries.
• Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Open up bags at the breakout table and send linen up the belt.
• Move carts: bring empty soil cart away, place new cart, return filled cart and push to cart area.
• Break open the bags at the bag breaker station.
• Sort large pieces: bath blankets, flat sheets, draw sheets, thermals.
• Sort smaller pieces: underpants, patient gowns, fitted sheets.
• Handle remaining pieces (towels, washcloths, scrubs).
• Hoist and weigh or stage soil bundles at the end of the line.
• Record weights and hang bundles after weighing.
• Adhere to quality standards for soil sorting and cart cleaning.
• Follow all safety procedures and policies.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

We are currently looking for a Soiled Linen Separator at our Atlanta Location Healthcare Laundry facility. We are looking for someone confident in decision-making, who can act quickly, and has excellent communication skills. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Open up bags at the breakout table and send linen up the belt.
• The primary cart mover (the attendant closest to the soil cart) brings the empty soil cart away from the belt, puts a new cart in the area, and takes the empty cart and pushes it to the cart area.
• The bag breaker attendant breaks open the bags.
• One attendant sorts large pieces consisting of bath blankets, flat sheets, draw sheets, and thermals.
• The second attendant sorts the second largest pieces – underpants, patient gowns, and fitted sheets.
• The third attendant will handle all the rest of the pieces, such as bath towels, washcloths, hand towels, and scrubs.
• The last stage of the soil room process is hoist and weigh or staging.
• The attendant pulls the full slings away as they fill up, puts an empty sling in, weighs the full one, records the information, and hangs it.
• Adhere to quality standards in terms of soil sorting and cart cleaning.
• Understand, observe, and adhere to all safety procedures and policies.
• Assist and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• High School Education, GED, and formal education/training preferred.
• Good analytical skills to be able to determine the number of carts required for orders.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or the service industry
• Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and stack individual items from the machine for long periods.
• Ability to lift to 100 pounds.
• Ability to push or pull a cart that may weigh 100 pounds.
• Demonstrated customer service and organization skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Physical Demands consist of standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting 50 lbs. or more, and stooping.
• Physical Demands consist of the ability to move rolling carts of varying weights and sizes -- up to and exceeding approximately 250lbs.
• Physical Requirements consist of being able to meet the physical demands for the entire shift.

Education

High School or GED 1 to 2 years of experience in the health care, manufacturing or similarly situated industries.
