Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required plus relevant certifications.
• GSWCC Level 1A certification or higher preferred.
• Three years of experience in soil erosion and sedimentation control or related field.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and permits.
• Valid Georgia driver''s license; must obtain Level 1B within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Interprets and ensures compliance with county erosion and sedimentation control codes, approved plans and permits; researches issues; initiates actions to correct violations.
• Reads and interprets building/site plans, blueprints, permits or related documents; reviews plans prior to inspections.
• Conducts pre-construction meetings with builders/developers; reviews phases of construction plans; explains erosion control requirements.
• Inspects residential/commercial sites for compliance; checks silt fences, detention ponds, stream buffers; monitors turbidity and sediment levels.
• Identifies deficiencies, hazards, or non-compliance; recommends corrective actions; issues warnings or citations; participates in court proceedings as needed.
• Provides information on code interpretation and compliance to property owners, developers, and contractors; mediates disputes and resolves conflicts.
• Responds to complaints about erosion control and stormwater; maintains records of responses and actions.
• Prepares various forms, reports, inspections, and field documents; enters data via computer systems.
