Job summary

Forsyth County is seeking an inspector to enforce soil erosion and sedimentation control codes on construction sites, review plans and permits, and ensure recommended measures are installed and maintained. The role includes field inspections, documenting findings, and coordinating with builders and developers.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, a GSWCC Level 1A Certification, a valid Georgia driver’s license, and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; GSWCC Level 1A or higher; three years of related experience or training in erosion/sedimentation control.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license and acquire Level 1B within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to read site plans, permits and related construction documents; interpret codes and ordinances.

Responsibilities

• Inspect residential and commercial sites for erosion control compliance with codes and approved plans.
• Interpret plans, permits and blueprints; explain requirements for erosion control measures.
• Conduct pre-construction meetings and follow-up inspections; issue warnings or citations as needed.
• Maintain records, take photographs, and communicate findings to supervisors and stakeholders.
