Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a laboratory technician to process field samples into numeric results. You will conduct ASTM tests, maintain calibration and quality records, log samples, and ensure chain of custody.

The role includes breaking cylinders and reporting strength results the same day, plus supporting proficiency programs and accreditation activities. Training is provided, with a strong emphasis on accuracy within a documented quality system (AASHTO R18).

Qualifications

• Careful hands and clean documentation habits.
• Prior lab or CMT experience is a plus, but not required — training provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform ASTM D698, D1557, D2216, D4318, C136, and C39 testing.
• Maintain calibration, standardization, and quality records.
• Log samples and preserve chain of custody.
• Break cylinders and report strength results the same day.
• Support proficiency sample programs and accreditation assessments.
