Job summary

Lightship is seeking a Software Engineer to own Android UI/UX for vehicle controls and telemetry visualization. You will transform telematics data into an intuitive mobile interface and collaborate with backend teams to integrate APIs and cloud services.

You'll also contribute to cloud infrastructure and cross‑platform development using Kotlin, Flutter, and Firebase/AWS. Collaboration with hardware, QA, and design is essential for end-to-end solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience designing Android UI/UX and vehicle-control interfaces.
• Experience integrating embedded systems with mobile apps.
• Proficiency with cloud services and APIs (Firebase, AWS).
• Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
• Experience with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, QA).

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement Android UI/UX for vehicle controls and telemetry visualization.

Job description

• Lightship’s mission to modernize and electrify RVs demands building cutting edge electronics and controls. We are seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Android UI/UX and Systems Interfacing
• In this role, you will be the primary architect of the user experience as it relates to vehicle controls and transforming telemetry data from the Lightship RV into an intuitive mobile interface
• You will also contribute to the development and implementation of our cloud infrastructure. To succeed, you will develop a strong understanding of how our systems work and how the users interact with them
• Design and build engaging applications in Android and iOS platforms
• Work closely with backend developers to integrate APIs, third-party libraries, and cloud services (like Firebase) to ensure seamless data flow and functionality
• Collaborate with our third-party development team on new features and releases
• Develop, maintain, and extend cloud server applications and infrastructure
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment, and collaborate with designers, product managers, and test engineers
• Adhere to best practices and coding standards, conduct code reviews, and maintain clear documentation for future upgrades and utilization
