Job summary

Lightship in the United States is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Android UI/UX and Systems Interfacing. You will architect the user experience for vehicle controls and transform telemetry data from lightship RV into a mobile interface, while contributing to cloud infrastructure.

You will collaborate with backend teams, third-party developers, designers and product managers to deliver end-to-end features, follow coding standards, and document upgrades for future use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency developing with Kotlin for Android.
• Proficiency with using tools like Figma for UX design and mockups.
• Experience using Flutter for cross-platform application development.
• Experience with UI design and reactive UI patterns.
• Experience with ProtoBufs, MQTT, WebSockets, and restricted-bandwidth data protocols.
• Experience with Embedded Linux and Linux system services.
• Experience working with databases such as SQLite.
• Experience using version control tools like Git and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.

About the Role:

Lightship’s mission to modernize and electrify RVs demands building cutting edge electronics and controls. We are seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Android UI/UX and Systems Interfacing. In this role, you will be the primary architect of the user experience as it relates to vehicle controls and transforming telemetry data from the Lightship RV into an intuitive mobile interface. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of our cloud infrastructure. To succeed, you will develop a strong understanding of how our systems work and how the users interact with them.

• Experience working with cross-functional software, hardware, test, and manufacturing teams

$130,000 - $150,000 a year
