Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence seeks an experienced Portable Metrology Software Training Manager to lead software training for Portable Metrology solutions. You will set training standards, coach trainers, and coordinate resources to meet customer and business needs.

The role combines deep software expertise with strong coaching, organization and customer-focused skills, delivering high-quality learning experiences across classroom, virtual and onsite environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Metrology, Technical Education or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in technical metrology, manufacturing, measurement, software training or a closely related environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of SpatialAnalyzer and Inspire software, with the ability to support complex applications and trainer development.
  • Experience providing technical leadership, coaching or guidance to technical professionals, trainers or customer education teams.
  • Strong presentation and instructional skills across classroom, virtual and onsite environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate complex or unusual situations, identify root causes and adapt established approaches to reach effective solutions.
  • Strong organizational, scheduling and project coordination capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required to support trainers, customers and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and promote high standards of software expertise by coordinating ongoing learning, product updates, coaching and professional development for trainers.
  • Establish, document and monitor standards for effective classroom, virtual and onsite training delivery.
  • Observe and evaluate training delivery, provide actionable feedback, and coach trainers to strengthen customer learning experiences.
  • Coordinate training schedules, including class locations, dates, instructor assignments, travel requirements and resource availability.
  • Balance trainer availability and customer demand to support effective coverage and timely delivery of training commitments.
  • Coordinate with approved external contractors and training partners when additional capacity or specialized support is required.
  • Support customer training order processing and maintain accurate training records and documentation.
  • Ensure required post-training documentation is completed and submitted accurately and on time to support invoicing and related financial processes.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, technical teams and other stakeholders to align training delivery with customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Monitor training effectiveness, identify improvement opportunities and implement practical changes to strengthen quality, consistency and efficiency.
  • Serve as a subject-matter resource for complex training needs and unusual customer or software situations, using sound judgement to determine an effective course of action.

Job description

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Portable Metrology Software Training Manager to provide technical leadership and operational coordination for software training supporting our Portable Metrology solutions. This role helps ensure trainers maintain expert-level product knowledge, deliver consistent and high-quality learning experiences, and are effectively scheduled to meet customer and business requirements.

The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise in portable metrology software with strong coaching, organisation, communication and customer-facing skills. Working independently across a diverse range of training and operational needs, this individual will establish training standards, coach trainers, coordinate resources and partners, and drive continuous improvement in the training experience.

What You’ll Do

Provide technical leadership, coaching and day-to-day guidance to software trainers supporting Hexagon Portable Metrology software solutions.

Maintain and promote high standards of software expertise by coordinating ongoing learning, product updates, coaching and professional development for trainers.

Establish, document and monitor standards for effective classroom, virtual and onsite training delivery.

Observe and evaluate training delivery, provide actionable feedback, and coach trainers to strengthen customer learning experiences.

Coordinate training schedules, including class locations, dates, instructor assignments, travel requirements and resource availability.

Balance trainer availability and customer demand to support effective coverage and timely delivery of training commitments.

Coordinate with approved external contractors and training partners when additional capacity or specialized support is required.

Support customer training order processing and maintain accurate training records and documentation.

Ensure required post-training documentation is completed and submitted accurately and on time to support invoicing and related financial processes.

Nice to Have

Working knowledge of Geomagic software solutions.

Experience delivering technical software training in classroom, virtual and onsite environments.

Knowledge of portable metrology technologies, including laser trackers, portable measuring arms and related measurement systems.

Experience coordinating contractor relationships or external training resources.

Familiarity with learning or training management systems, order processing and customer documentation workflows.

Experience using training effectiveness measures and customer feedback to improve learning programmes.

This is a remote position based in the United States. The role requires regular use of computer, video-conferencing and collaboration tools and the ability to work effectively with geographically distributed colleagues, trainers, partners and customers. Travel is required as needed to support training delivery, trainer development, customers and business requirements. Travel may include visits to customer, training and Hexagon locations.
