Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Software Testing Engineer for the Precision Fires team at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. This on-site role supports the Aviation and Missile Center with responsibility for test planning, case writing, and verification activities.

The position requires a BS degree with related testing experience or equivalent experience, an active Secret clearance, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary, on-site environment in Huntsville, Alabama.

Qualifications

• BS degree and two years of practical experience in software testing; six years may be substituted for the degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist the development of test plans, schedules, and approaches for all testing environments.
• Write test cases and scripts and identify data for test scenarios.
• Perform tests of software and IT systems to ensure proper operation and defect-free performance.
• Support verification activities on work products using defined methods and environments; analyze results and resolve issues.
• Document and report progress on problem resolution to management.

Description
SAIC has an immediate need for a Software Testing Engineer to support the Precision Fires team supporting the Aviation and Missile Center located in Huntsville, AL onsite at Redstone Arsenal.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the development of test plans, test schedule, and approach for all testing environments
• Writes test cases and scripts and identifies data for test scenarios
• Performs tests of software and/or IT systems to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects
• Supports verification activities on work products using defined methods, procedures and criteria with an appropriate verification environmentSupports analysis of test results and resolution of open issues
• Documents and works to resolve all complex problem and reports progress on problem resolution to management

Qualifications

Required Education

• BS degree and two (2) years of practical experience; six (6) years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree

Required Clearance

• Must have an active Secret Security Clearance; US Citizenship required

Required Skills

• Understanding of software test methodologies
• Proven ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams in organizationally complex environments
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with significant experience leading concurrent mission operations
• Working knowledge of test range planning and coordination

Target salary range $60,001 - $100,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
