Software Tester

Hybrid (Training period is onsite then onsite 3 days/wk). Only local candidates will be considered.

Description

DSI is searching for a Software Tester to support testing specifications and requirements. The role involves developing user acceptance test scripts for various systems such as web/internet POS, harvest reporting, IVR systems, and conducting full regression testing within an Agile environment. The successful candidate must meet challenging deadlines while performing daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, maintain, and execute test plans, standards, procedures, test scripts, and use case scenarios for user acceptance.
• Assist in planning, creating, and controlling test environments.
• Identify and resolve questions related to testing processes.
• Record, verify, log, and document testing results.
• Track issues, risks, and actions using Microsoft tracking tools.
• Define and apply success, entry, and exit criteria for testing.
• Meet departmental and project deadlines.
• Draft and present reports on testing results, including issues, risks, impacts, and contingency plans, for approval.
• Participate in meetings with stakeholders to communicate status and resolve issues.
• Additional duties include maintaining requirement traceability, analyzing requirements, data mapping, and confirming data transfers and testing outcomes related to functional specifications.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of application development testing experience.
• College degree or equivalent technical study preferred.
• Experience creating test scripts and use case scenarios for user acceptance.
• Ability to complete tasks within established timelines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Desired: 1 year experience with Microsoft ADO or similar tools.
• Desired: 1 year familiarity with testing in an Agile environment.
• Desired: 1 year of business analysis experience.
• Desired: 1 year of data mapping validation experience.
• Desired: 1 year of data migration strategies familiarity.
• Desired: Prior Commonwealth experience and experience with core agency functions such as hunting, fishing, trapping, and boating.
