Job summary

Rivian in Torrance, CA invites an enthusiastic Software Test Engineer Intern to join our charging systems team. You will design and execute automated tests, develop test strategies, and help ensure robust software and hardware integration for our EV charging technology.

This role requires full-time availability for the Spring Co-Op from January to August 2027, and active student enrollment. You will work with software engineers, implement pytest-based test automation, and contribute to CI/CD

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in an accredited program.
• Majoring in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Excellent Python programming skills with an emphasis on test automation.
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks, such as pytest.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop cutting-edge automated test suites and frameworks to rigorously validate the performance of Rivian's charging systems, pushing the boundaries of efficiency and reliability.
• Design and implement innovative test automation frameworks and scripts, ensuring seamless integration with our CI/CD pipeline for rapid iteration and deployment of software updates.
• Collaborate closely with software development teams to integrate automated tests into the development process, enabling early detection of issues and faster delivery of high-quality charging solutions.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing frameworks to simulate real-world scenarios and stress conditions, ensuring the robustness and safety of Rivian's charging infrastructure.
• Enhance and optimize existing HIL platforms, implementing upgrades and modifications to maximize performance, efficiency, and scalability, pushing the limits of our testing capabilities.
