Job summary

SAIC seeks a Software Tester to support a government agency's mission-critical system in Nashville. You will contribute to both manual and automated testing within an integrated Agile/SAFe team, designing test scripts and participating in CI/CD pipelines.

The role emphasizes collaboration with developers, BAs, and testers to ensure quality and reliability. The ideal candidate has strong experience in manual and automated testing, is self-motivated, and detail-oriented.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; additional 4 years of experience may substitute the degree.
• 2+ years of total IT experience.
• 2+ years as a Software Test Engineer or similar role.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust requiring U.S. Citizenship.
• Strong experience with both manual and automated testing.
• Strong knowledge of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and testing methodologies.
• Proven ability to analyze complex requirements/designs and create detailed test cases and scripts.
• Hands-on experience creating and maintaining automated tests using Selenium and Playwright.
• Experience testing or working with Java-based applications.
• Experience with GitHub (repos, branching, PRs, CI/CD workflows).
• Experience with Jira and SVN for issue tracking and version control.
• Basic knowledge of SQL for data validation and backend testing.
• Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex requirements to develop manual test cases and automated scripts.
• Perform manual functional, regression, integration, and system testing; log defects.
• Design and maintain Selenium and Playwright automated test suites (UI and/or API).
• Work with Java-based applications to design test frameworks and scripts.
• Execute automated tests in CI/CD pipelines; analyze results and triage failures.
• Run load and performance tests and contribute to performance reporting.
• Track defects from creation to closure with developers to resolve issues.
• Deploy software to test environments and monitor logs for errors.
• Participate in peer reviews of test cases and scripts for traceability.
