Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Software Tester to ensure quality, reliability, and performance of software applications through comprehensive test planning, execution, and reporting. The SQA Test Engineer will perform both manual and automated testing, collaborating with developers and business analysts.

You will support release activities, maintain testing standards across projects, and contribute to test design, data validation, and defect tracking in cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience.
• 5+ years overall experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust requiring U.S. Citizenship.
• 2+ years of experience as a software test engineer or similar QA role.
• Strong understanding of the Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC) and testing methodologies.
• Proficiency in executing manual tests and documenting results.
• Experience designing, developing, executing, and maintaining automated tests (functional, regression, data-driven) using UFT or similar tools.
• Basic SQL knowledge for data validation and back-end testing.
• Experience with Jira/Xray or similar test management platforms.
• Familiarity with Git and version control.
• Experience with software testing in cloud environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to document issues clearly.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and design test plans and step-by-step manual test cases.
• Execute manual tests, log results, and track defects.
• Develop and maintain automated tests using UFT or similar tools.
• Analyze automated results and identify root cause.
• Track defects from creation to closure with detailed descriptions.
• Deploy builds to test environments and monitor logs for issues.
• Support load and performance testing and analyze results.
• Lead peer reviews of test cases to align with requirements.
• Assist with release test planning and RTMs, regression databases, and test summaries.
• Support QA checks on all deliverables for quality and compliance.
• Collaborate with analysts and developers to validate requirements and testability.
