About this role:
Fuse is seeking a Software Systems QA Test Engineer to develop and maintain testing for our remote network monitoring and management tool and integrated multi-enclave network controller. You will collaborate with software development and systems teams to develop, validate, verify, and prepare these systems for deployment across various defense platforms. The ideal candidate has experience in the entire product lifecycle, including testing complex technical systems, and is a self-starter passionate about enhancing operator capabilities through user-focused communication, networking, and software.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop testing scripts and plans for various modules of the T3 suite.
- Use Python and Selenium to create automated tests for network management and monitoring web applications.
- Maintain existing Robot testing framework.
- Create test tools (Python, Bash) to verify RHEL system and network configurations.
- Build and sustain test infrastructure for embedded system validation.
- Support software design, development, and testing of dynamic tactical systems.
- Conduct functional and system-level testing.
- Verify system functionalities, including UI display accuracy and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback.
- Maintain and update CI/CD scripts and processes.
- Utilize Fuse's configuration management tools (Git, Trac, Jenkins, Peer Reviews).
- Derive and write system/subsystem requirements from customer needs using Systems Engineering principles.
- Complete verification and validation of system requirements, ensuring full test coverage.
- Support the design and development of software-based tactical communication systems.
- Plan and execute tests, including demonstrations and deployments.
- Create and update technical documentation and diagrams.
- Assist in demonstration planning with customers and experiment managers.
- Some travel may be required for testing and demonstrations.
Requirements:
- B.S. in Engineering (Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Science) with 3-4 years of relevant experience or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with design, development, testing, and deployment of complex systems.
- Proficiency in writing Test Cases, Plans, and Reports.
- Experience testing Web Applications.
- Experience with U.S. Navy or other armed services warfare programs.
- Proficiency with Git.
- Experience with C/C++ and Python.
- Familiarity with Linux OS (RHEL, CentOS).
- Experience with Virtual Machines (VMware).
- Experience with network emulators like GNS3.
- Knowledge of networking protocols and Linux DevOps, including scripting and automation with Jenkins and Gitlab.
- Experience in agile software development, including version control, TDD, and CI.
- Ability to obtain U.S. Secret clearance.
- U.S. citizenship.

Highly Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with SNMP protocol.
- Experience with Docker or similar containerization tools.
- Knowledge of open-source technologies and protocols.
- Experience with Selenium and Robot Framework.
- Familiarity with modern testing frameworks like Cypress and Playwright.
- Experience with React.
- Knowledge of Navy C4ISR systems or similar.
- Experience with military and commercial SATCOM systems.
- Knowledge of tactical data links and waveforms.
- Experience working with engineering teams.
- Understanding of DoD Security Technical Guidelines.
- Strong network troubleshooting skills.
- Active U.S. Secret clearance.
Salary Range: $95,000 - $125,000
