Job summary

Jobot is seeking an entry-level Systems Integration Engineer with a DoD Secret clearance to support Navy submarine and carrier systems. You will work on requirements, design, integration, and verification under guidance from senior engineers in a multidisciplinary team.

Location is Middletown, RI, with on-site work and potential hybrid arrangements. You will gain depth across full system life cycle, with mentorship and opportunities to contribute to accreditation activities.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance required at time of hire.
• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field.
• 1–2 years of professional engineering experience (internships ok).
• Experience with MBSE and system life cycle concepts.
• Experience with requirements management tools (IBM DOORS/Jama).

Responsibilities

• Support requirements analysis, design, integration, and test of Navy systems.
• Assist senior engineers to ensure designs meet government specs.
• Develop and maintain documentation and test procedures.
• Contribute to integration and verification in lab environments.
• Support accreditation and certification activities.

Job Details

You will support requirements analysis, design, integration, and test of mission‑critical Navy systems. Working with guidance from senior engineers, you will help ensure designs meet government specifications and are fully documented, verified, and certified.

What You'll Own

• Requirements decomposition, tracing, and maintenance at the system and subsystem level
• Support for functional and performance analysis, system design, and trade studies
• Interface definitions between system components, software, and external systems
• Engineering products including specifications, interface documents, diagrams, and test procedures
• Integration and verification testing in lab environments, with test results traced to requirements
• Identification and resolution of design and interface issues found during development, integration, and test
• Accreditation and certification documentation, evidence, and support during evaluation events

What You Bring

  • Active DoD Secret clearance at time of hire
  • Bachelor's in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 1 to 2 years of professional engineering experience (internships and co‑ops with substantial systems engineering work considered)
  • Understanding of systems engineering concepts and the system development life cycle
  • Requirements management tool experience (IBM DOORS, Jama, or similar)
  • Technical documentation experience: specifications, interface definitions, drawings, or test procedures
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Strong written and verbal communication
• Preferred
  • SysML and MBSE tools (Cameo/MagicDraw, IBM Rhapsody, Sparx Enterprise Architect)
  • Navy combat or weapon systems experience, including Tomahawk
  • Accreditation, certification, or DoD RMF support
  • Linux and networking fundamentals
  • Python or Bash scripting
  • Government or Navy customer experience
  • Agile development environment
