Job summary

Jobot is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to own pipelines, containers, and deployment infrastructure for mission-critical submarine software. This on-site role in Middletown, RI requires DoD Secret clearance and strong Bash/Python scripting with Docker/Podman in a Kubernetes environment.

You will automate environments, secure pipelines, and collaborate with development and test teams to accelerate delivery while maintaining reliability and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 4 to 6 years in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong Bash and Python scripting.
• Hands-on container image work with Docker and Podman.
• CI/CD pipeline experience in Atlassian Bamboo and GitLab CI.

Responsibilities

• Build, secure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment infrastructure for submarine software delivery.
• Automate repeatable environments, harden pipelines, and collaborate with engineers and testers to improve processes.

This is a hands-on DevOps engineering role focused on building and improving the infrastructure that enables reliable software delivery. Job Details

You will build, secure, and maintain the CI/CD pipelines and deployment infrastructure that move submarine combat system software from development to deployment quickly, securely, and reliably. You will automate repeatable environments, harden the pipeline, and partner with engineers and testers to improve how the team builds, tests, and ships.

What You'll Own

CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI and Bamboo, plus Bitbucket and GitLab repository administration, branching strategies, and merge request workflows

Container images, registries, and deployment strategies using Docker and Podman for a Kubernetes-based runtime

Bash and Python automation and infrastructure as code for version-controlled development and lab environments

Pipeline security, including image scanning, secrets management, and access controls

System and pipeline health, performance, and availability, including incident response and root cause analysis

Build, test, and deployment process improvements within an agile/scrum cadence

Documentation and runbooks aligned to program configuration management practices

What You Bring

Required

Active DoD Secret clearance at time of hire

Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field

4 to 6 years in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering

Strong Bash and Python scripting

Hands-on container image work with Docker and Podman

CI/CD pipeline experience in Atlassian Bamboo and GitLab CI

Git, Bitbucket, and GitLab proficiency, including branching models, merge requests, webhooks, and history management

Solid Linux administration, including RHEL

Networking fundamentals: DNS, load balancing, firewalls, TLS

Strong troubleshooting and cross-team communication

Preferred

Kubernetes or other container orchestration

Terraform or Ansible

Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Splunk

GitOps workflows and secrets management (Vault, sealed secrets)

Regulated, security-sensitive, or air-gapped environments

AWS, Azure, or GCP

DoD or Navy program experience
