Job summary

Avion Solutions Inc. is seeking a Software Systems Engineer to support the IFMC AMD Mission Command Product Office in Huntsville, AL. You will develop system level features, guide software implementation and lead reviews with MBSE in an Agile setting.

You will work with contractors, government civilians and system operators. A strong engineering background, DoD familiarity and willingness to travel up to 15% are essential.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related field is required.
• Candidate will have 10+ years of system engineering experience.
• Experience in areas such as DoD systems, MBSE, or related domains.
• Strong initiative, teamwork, and collaboration in a small team environment.
• Comfortable working in Agile environments and engaging stakeholders to meet user needs.
• Strong organizational skills and a solid foundation in system engineering principles.
• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain/maintain DoD clearance.

Avion Solutions Inc., a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for a Software Systems Engineer to support the IFMC AMD Mission Command Product Office. This position is located in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Developing system level features that describe MEI and CSCI behavior, performance, and acceptance criteria necessary to provide guidance for software implementation.

• Lead reviews and adjudicating comments made against the features.

• Will take an MBSE approach is used to document the features using an Agile workflow.

• Will work with both contractors, government civilians and system operators.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• A bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related field is required.

• Candidate will have 10 or more years of system engineering experience.

• Must have experience in one or more of the following areas:tactical command and control systems, tactical weapons systems, tactical sensor systems, software, hardware, requirements decomposition, or MBSE tools and languages.

• Candidate needs to have a record of taking initiative and being a team player in a small team environment.

• Must be comfortable working as a team member in an Agile environment and be willing to engage various levels of stakeholders to ensure that software is capable of meeting the needs of the intended users.

• Will be highly organized with a strong technical background in system engineering principles.

• Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain/maintain a DoW security clearance.

• Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

• System engineering experience in support of DoD programs is highly desired, especially in an Army Air and Missile Defense program.

• Hands on experience creating models in Cameo or MagicDraw using SysML and UAF are desired.

• Experience using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence and SAFe Agile experience are plus.
